The University Foundation Certificate (Level 3) is a NZQA approved qualification. This certificate builds on the New Zealand Certificate in Foundation Skills (Level 2) and leads to the University Foundation Certificate (Level 4), Further study or training related to the context of their study, at the NZ Qualifications Framework Level 4 and above.
The aim of this course is to assist students who have minimal knowledge of English to reach a level of English at which they can function mostly independently on a daily basis with a degree of confidence e.g. board the right bus, buy food, find their way around, be able to use greetings, be polite, etc.
